Thanksgiving Message 2025
Posted . ~2min read.
Looks like I took last year off from the Thanksgiving message. Happens. Took off a few years in the 2010’s, too. I’m not reading too much into it. Life happens. Priorities change.
In the past, I would start working on my Thanksgiving message in October. Of course, back then I wasn’t married, didn’t have a kid, and didn’t know what I didn’t know.
— Bruce Lee
I love that philosophy from Bruce Lee… be like water. Kind of helps when choosing your battles, which any parent can relate to I’m sure.
Today feels like a weird time. The economy is all over the place. Society is all over the place. You find yourself guarded in conversation… not because you’re afraid of your opinion; but you don’t want to be surprised by someone else’s.
Consulting gets a bit difficult with economic unpredictability; making work, much like today, just weird.
Thanksgiving doesn’t have the same punch it used to… for me at least. Perhaps another victim of the pandemic. As with everything, things change. Homes get sold. New lives enter our world and change logistics and family dynamics.
Life is change.
You can flow or you can crash.
Be water, my friend…
I’m grateful for my life, my wife, my baby girl. I’m grateful for my family… here, there, and everywhere. I’m grateful for thoughts. Even more grateful for actions…
I’m reminded very often that people, even when the world can seem cruel… people can be kind. Generosity exists. Kindness can ignite the spark needed by so many… it can inspire, encourage, provide strength, and fill the sail one need’s to keep moving.
Be water and also… be kind, my friend.
Happy Thanksgiving
