Thoughts on ClueCon 2025
Posted . ~2min read.
Last week, I attended ClueCon 2025 in Chicago. The event was well attended with open source RTC/VoIP community members. Any opportunity I get to spend time with Daniel-Constantin Mierla is well worth the trip. =)
This year I presented on “Scaling and Moving User Registrations, Locations, and Presence from FreeSWITCH to Kamailio.” I’ve posted my slides (and related links) to pgpx.io/cc2025 and will post the video when it’s created.
The event was enjoyable. On a personal level, thanks to Brian West and Giacomo Vacca, I was able to resolve an issue pestering a client (dealing with caller-id changes on yealink). Now, although I did ultimately resolve the issue with Kamailio, just being able to walk up to Brian and say “Hey… I got this crazy thing…” and sit with him one-on-one is invaluable.
I miss that these types of interactions that were common during the heydays of Astricon and now really only happen twice a year… at ClueCon and Kamailio World. These events truly help to create, grow, and maintain a strong community. I’m very grateful for the organizers, sponsors, and attendees for their time and attendance at these events.
We do have a bi-weekly FreeSWITCH office hours that does provide a chance to interact and ask (Brian and many SignalWire experts) questions. Good calls… come join us.
This year I brought the girls with me… good time had by all. Looking forward to Cluecon 2026.
