No, there is too much. Let me sum up.

Uno! Ok – I can think of no better way to start this post than with a movie quote. After all, this is the Fred Posner blog, isn’t it? Ok, maybe it would be better if I gave the full Inigo Montoya quote but nonetheless, Buttercup is marrying Humperdink in a little less than half an hour. New York City After spending the weekend in Oregon with my family, Yeni and I joined my parents and cousins in New York City for a great weekend. Yeni had never visited New York before, and we tried to shove as much touristy goodness in 48 hours as could be humanly possible. What did we do? We went to Times Square, rode the Subways, walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, checked out the Statue of Liberty, whispered in Grand Central Station, walked all through Central Park, saw a Squirrel-Rat, visited Lincoln Center, the Museum of Natural History, and shared an ice cream in Brooklyn Heights. Not shabby, huh? We snapped a lot of pictures, and have them posted at my Picasa page. The weekend it self was amazing. The trip home sucked. Let me sum it up in three words: US Airways Sucks. How much do they suck? The enormity of their suckitude is beyond all knows means of measure. Comparable to a black hole, they simply do not allow any intelligent thought to escape. ...

Wheel of Fortune!

Back from a great weekend visiting family in Eugene, OR for my cousin’s high school graduation. I believe that the reason running is so big in Eugene, OR is that running is actually faster than driving in Oregon. I have never driven on roads with drivers so happy to drive so slowly. It was truly amazing. On the way back to Gainesville, I stopped of at the Vegas airport where I’m up $40....

Heading out to Eugene, OR

So I’m flying the trip from Hell this weekend to visit my cousins in Eugene, OR. Will be great to see them, and to get there I will fly from Gainesville to Charlotte… Charlotte to Phoenix… Phoenix to Eugene… then Eugene to Las Vegas… Las Vegas to Charlotte… and Charlotte to Gainesville. I’m on leg one and when I landed in Charlotte, the power went out. So, after about 10 minutes all the computers came back on and 60 minutes later the air has yet to return....

Sunday ride to nowhere

So I haven’t been sleeping well. No real reason that I can tell… happens time to time… we all have it now and then. So, I know the one thing that always makes me really happy is to get on the bike and just go. So Sunday I put on the leather vest, grabbed the camera, filled the thermos with some water, and headed out on the bike to — nowhere....

Orange and Blue Weekend

It’s that time of year in Gainesville… the time where the gators play the gators in the ultimate fight over alumni donations. 😉 But, the great thing about Orange and Blue weekend, is that usually a good ol’ friendly alumni comes to town. This year, it was The Egan’s who graced our lovely town with their beautiful baby Grace. Had a great time smelling the flowers, eating a burger at Cafe Gardens, and hanging out with great friends....

Weekend in Gainesville

Another weekend with Yeni in Florida. Was great to have a visitor at the house but unfortunately the weather was less than cooperative. After a great visit to the University of Florida and Big Lou’s Pizza, we had a quiet evening in the house on Saturday and prepared for what we thought would be an awesome all-day bike ride to St. Augustine. Well, mother nature decided that the flowers needed some more water and the rain started before sunrise and never stopped....

Bugs, Smoke, and Rain

Having a Harley is clearly one of the best things that’s ever happened to me. And, this weekend… for my moms XXth birthday, I rode down from Gainesville to “sunny” Fort Lauderdale on the Road King. What have I learned you ask? Bugs love motorcycles Chrome Bags are the best, most waterproof bags ever made. The entire State of Florida is on fire.

Rothchilde en Tubo

I love cigars. Love them. Love them. I’m now making sure I enjoy cigars more often—the only problem being the local stores in Gainesville charge through the ass for the simple pleasure of a good cigar. Take for example one of my absolute favorite cigars, Romeo y Julieta’s Rothchilde en Tubo. I love this cigar, and a year ago could get one for under 5 bucks. Today at Modern Age, the price was $6....

Goodbye Dish Network

After spending a few weeks with my family in SoFla, I returned to the abode in Gainesville to find that Dish Network had dropped my NBC. Dropped. All gone. Now, I had chosen the America’s Everything plan which was supposed to be all available channels and also paid extra for my local channels and the “super stations.” So why drop it? Well, according to Dish Network: A district court judge issued an injunction requiring DISH Network to shut off so-called “distant network” channels no later than December 1, 2006....
