Recently, the wonderful Yeni Monroy and I took a few days away from VoIP and the bakery to take a 2,100 mile road trip. With the fantastic excuse of attending my cousin’s wedding in Annapolis, we extended the trip to include North Carolina and Virginia/DC. Although we mostly like to take back roads, we opted to head out northbound on I-75. Ah, the American system of Cable monopolies — hate it, or really hate it. In the United States we pay more and get less than Europe, Asia, and even Estonia. Living in Gainesville, Florida, I have the choice of Cox Communications or AT&T for Internet service. AT&T offers DSL with speeds up to 6MB down and 384K up! No plans for UVerse in Gainesville. Cox offers high speed cable Internet, and seeing the incredible offer from AT&T above, it’s a no-brainer....
