2016 Road Trip  [draft]

Recently, the wonderful Yeni Monroy and I took a few days away from VoIP and the bakery to take a 2,100 mile road trip. With the fantastic excuse of attending my cousin’s wedding in Annapolis, we extended the trip to include North Carolina and Virginia/DC. Off to North Carolina After getting the truck checked at my trusted mechanic, we loaded the Expedition and hit the road bright and early. Although we mostly like to take back roads, we opted to head out northbound on I-75. I had some concern about how the truck would handle… she’s a 2003 Expedition and started the trip with 207,400 miles on the odometer. I’ve never owned a vehicle with this much mileage, and although the truck was not giving any indications of trouble, the thought did cross my mind nonetheless. ...

Ah, the American system of Cable monopolies — hate it, or really hate it. In the United States we pay more and get less than Europe, Asia, and even Estonia. Living in Gainesville, Florida, I have the choice of Cox Communications or AT&T for Internet service. AT&T offers DSL with speeds up to 6MB down and 384K up! No plans for UVerse in Gainesville. Cox offers high speed cable Internet, and seeing the incredible offer from AT&T above, it’s a no-brainer....
